Sometimes it happens that you capture a detail during a walk or trek in the country and later on the computer you recognise the beauty of the image. This is also the case for me in this photo.
During a tour of Ireland, I visited Mizen Head and captured this piece of nature on a rocky outcrop there. The beauty immediately struck me as further rugged landscape of rocks and cliffs, but on opening it on the PC I saw the real beauty through the colour of the different flowers and the view through to the sea. The dark clouds over the water do not bode well, but the presence of the flowers make you look at the picture with a cheerful gaze. A calm image that captures the vastness of the landscape well in addition to the detail. A print that deserves a large format against a quiet wall.
