On a table, covered in dust and memories, stands an old lantern. You could almost swear it is still warm from the last flame that burned in it. But the cobwebs betray how long it has been standing here. Abandoned. Alone. An anchor point in a space slowly being swallowed up by silence and decay.
This picture feels like a breath between two worlds: between what once brought light and has now been completely taken over by darkness. The atmosphere was hushed but intense. As if time is holding its breath here. Every detail - the discolouration of the iron, the dust, the cracks in the glass - tells of impermanence, but also of beauty in things left behind.
You don't feel panic or chaos. Only calm, melancholy, and a strange kind of peace. As if this object has completed its task and is now waiting - for nothing, for everything.
