The conditions were ideal!
Mist that did not hang too deep and yet thick enough to break the light of the rising sun and give an enchanting, diffuse light. This in combination with the mirror smooth water surface and the fresh spring green in the birches. The reflection created a beautiful symmetry.
The silence was serene, occasionally interrupted by the knocking of a woodpecker and the "barking" of a deer somewhere in the woods.
