I took this picture on the Staverden estate in the municipality of Ermelo on the Veluwe. When I left home it was still sunny and when I arrived at Staverden estate it was foggy. When I took this picture it was foggy enough to take this picture, it was even windless which created a reflection in the moat. A week earlier there was another storm in the Netherlands, on the right side of the photo you can see some storm damage in the form of a broken branch. We call it Castle Staverden but actually the house in the photo was built somewhere between 1920 and 1930, before that there was a castle on the estate. Initially I came to Staverden to take a few macro photos of crocuses, given the fog I started with this photo. I wanted to give this photo a quiet look. The deciduous trees what you see in the picture are different types of trees, I do not know exactly what species they are. When I took this picture it was actually still winter even though you can't see it.
