Sometimes it's the little things that touch you the most! I took this photo on Karpathos, somewhere on a quiet, warm afternoon when the light was just right. The bougainvillea was in full bloom there, and what particularly struck me was not only the bright red of the flowers, but also the shadows on the typical flagstone tile you see everywhere there.
It is an image that sums up Greek summer for me: warm, simple, full of colour and contrast. You don't always have to capture a big view or a perfect landscape - sometimes a small corner on the street is enough to feel something!
I love this kind of detail. Especially the colour of the flowers gives you an instant summer vibe. You think of holidays, sunshine, not having to do anything. This picture fits perfectly in a space where you want to bring back that feeling - at home, at work, or just in a place you often walk by.
A piece of summer on your wall!
