A work that looks great on a large blank wall.
The butterfly was created by putting a photo of a butterfly into photoshop. Then the colours were taken out, because I wanted cobalt blue and gold colours. By placing these colours in the layers underneath, I was able to create this fantasy butterfly.
The face is also a photo, but a lot of work went into that to give it a more 3D effect. This was done by painting over it with digital paint.
The thread-like ends were also drawn by "digital" hand.
The buildings below were also digitally cropped from a royalty-free photograph and the colours were made more saturated.
As a child, I could spend hours drawing at the kitchen table at home. Later in life, I enjoyed years of artistic training and although I learnt a lot, at some point I detached myself from wanting to conform to artistic dogma because it hindered me. I.. Read more…
