About ‘Floater on a wave, San Sebastián’ by Urban Archive

I took this photo on the coast of San Sebastián in March 2025. The wave has already broken and is rolling towards the beach, whilst one surfer is already riding it and following its path. Further out, other surfers are scattered across the water, waiting for the next wave.

What defines the image is the shape of the wave. The diagonal line of the foam cuts across the frame and gives direction to the composition. The water around it remains relatively flat, allowing the movement of the wave to stand out clearly without the image becoming cluttered.

The town lies in the background along the edge of the bay, providing a clear boundary. Due to the cloudy weather, the light is even and the colours remain subdued, placing the emphasis on form and position.

For me, this image captures the moment after the action has already begun. Not the start, but the continuation — in which everything is already in motion and has its own direction. It is a calm image with a clear line, which fits well in an interior where you wish to add structure and focus.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
