On display are combinations of alienated relief-like pictorial elements taken from various photographs of the island of Langeoog. The intention and incentive was to develop new pictorial forms.
The realisation of these pictures is worked on until a harmonious and colour-balanced picture is created. Chance, creativity and patience also play a role in the realisation of the pictures. Some new combinations lead to a quick result, with others it may not lead to a satisfactory result or it may take a long time before it is satisfactorily resolved. All the pictures I offer here were created according to this principle.
I have had the idea for these pictures for a long time. It also came from my painted works of art, which were also put together from various picture elements to form a collage. Influences for these ideas included the paintings of the American artist Roy Lichtenstein. My paintings also consist of the primary colours and are therefore very colourful. But they are not photos.
