About "Fire and Earth 1"

About the artwork

In this painting, from a series of three wax paintings, we see a world in violent transformation. Shades of brown dominate the landscape, hardened rock and solidified lava intersected with cracks that reveal glowing molten rock in yellow and red. Above is a grey, overcast sky, a mixture of smoke, vapour and humidity, through which the sun barely penetrates.

The wax technique is essential to the rendering, with a rough, three-dimensional surface reflecting the turbulent earth. The "bumps" and unevenness emphasise the brute force of this initial stage of destruction, a landscape forged in fire and rotation.

As in previous series (Ice and Wind), a small, egg-shaped object with three red dots appears in each painting. The meaning remains enigmatic, a subtle hint at a force beyond the purely natural, an external observer in the midst of catastrophe. The aim of these paintings is not to evoke fear or hope, but to create a sense of acceptance. To accept the immense, potentially terrifying power of nature, and perhaps something even greater that is reshaping the world. They are a testament to the cyclical nature of creation and destruction, and call for recognition rather than resistance.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
