About "Lickable Landscape 2"

About the artwork

"Lickable Landscape 2" is one of three encaustic works I made with recycled wax from an earlier, and unsuccessful, project. The earlier project was an attempt to make a realistic painting of human forms, but it came to nothing. So I melted down the paintings and collected the remaining wax. I was able to separate the colours to some extent, resulting in these red and purple tones, and a hint of skin colour.

The name "Lickable Landscape" came about because my wife came into the room one day and remarked that she would like to lick these paintings like this. When I made this work, I tried to sculpt the various landscape elements, resulting in a smooth and rounded edge.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
