About the artwork

This image was made in one of those moments that you keep remembering with a smile on your face. We had spent two weeks in the North of France in spring and even though this is not an area known for its great temperatures, it had been boiling hot the entire trip. We almost lived in our car which had airconditioning as the rented medieval cottage we were staying in was uncomfortably hot. I had expected lots of mist sunrises, which of course did not happen at all. On the very last day, the irony of it..., we drove up a hill, my feet were swollen due to the heat, so I wore slippers and all of a sudden a patch of fog, dense fog, but it was moving at high speed. I said: stop the car! My husband knows better than to not stop when I see fog in a forest and I ran out on slippers, changed my mind about that because of the slippery mossy slopes, rushed to put my walking boots on, did not even tie the laces and ran into the forest. Five pictures later and the fog was gone, but I was happy. This little piece of woodland looked incredibly moody while it lasted. Such bliss
