About ‘Fading’ by Yvette Bavelaar

Fading is an expressive mixed media portrait from the Women series, which focuses on emotion, vulnerability and strength. The work shows a female face that seems to slowly dissolve into flowing layers of ink, paint and water. Dark, almost smoky shapes frame the head, while warm shades of red, orange and ochre blend with cool blues and soft skin tones. Small splashes and subtle textures give the image an organic and raw look. The eyes form the calm centre of the work and invite the viewer to introspection.

The Women series arose from a fascination with the inner world of women and the traces that life leaves behind. Fading refers to the fading of memories, emotions and moments, but also to the beauty that lies within them. The work is constructed intuitively, combining chance and control through the use of ink, charcoal, rice paper and various other materials.

The atmosphere is dreamy and tranquil, with a slight melancholy that leaves room for personal interpretation. The unique mixed media technique and soft transitions give the work depth and movement. In an interior, Fading creates an artistic and warm atmosphere and is a powerful eye-catcher in both modern and tranquil spaces.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
