Yes, I wrote it correctly "Fleurance. It's a village in the Gers in the south of France. And yes, I thought right away, what a beautiful facade. And also I thought right away, what a great way to make it clear that this is a café. Personally I like it better than neon light boxes. The antiquity and markings of the wood, the falcon stones, and after all these years the proud 'CAFE' on the facade. I also love the lantern and the drinking monster at the top of the oval is a saignallant detail.
By the way, at the bottom of this building is a great restaurant with pizzas and pastas, among other things, and of course on weekdays a 'plat du jour'. Run by a family; mom, son and daughter-in-law. They make time for a chat and enjoy their work.
The village of Fleurance has about 6000 inhabitants and was included in a stage of the Tour de France 7 times. Of course, the village is centuries old. It was founded in the 13th century.
