About ‘FRIEDA EHLERS | Sunrise in Hamburg harbour’ by Olliventure

The alarm clock rings at 3.30 a.m. and I have an appointment with Frieda. Frieda is an old passenger ship, a so-called launch. My problem: it's an eternity before the sun rises. I drive through Hamburg harbour, lie in wait and pass the time on Insta. Not even a minute after Kaya has responded to my story, my phone rings.

Kaya is pretty drunk and has just been out in the neighbourhood. I find her idea that maybe we should get married one day kind of funny. But the way she's shouting into the receiver in her sultry presenter's voice, she didn't have to call for that. After all, we're only a few hundred metres away from each other as the crow flies.

There's only one thing that separates us and that's what feels like 2.8 per mille.

Get home safely, I love you! Set up the camera, we're about to start. If there's a perfect time, then I think I've found it.

No sailor's yarn.
