About "Evening Falls at the Waag on the Spaarne in Haarlem"

About the artwork

The Waag in Haarlem is a building on the Spaarne, on the corner of the Spaarne with the Damstraat. The Weigh House was built between 1594 and 1599 to the design and supervision of the Haarlem city architect Lieven de Key in Renaissance style.

The location at the Spaarne was favorable in view of the supply of the goods to be weighed. The building stands on an irregular piece of land, but the building offers a harmonious appearance because both facades (front and side) are identical.

The Spaarne is a river in North Holland, the Netherlands. The river flows through Haarlem to Spaarndam. The name Spaarne is probably derived from "Spier," meaning reeds.

The St. Bavo Church is a late medieval church building in the Dutch city of Haarlem, located on the Grote Markt. It was dedicated to St. Bavo until the Reformation. The medieval cruciform church (construction period: 1370-1520), which stands in the middle of the old city center, was built in the Brabant Gothic architectural style.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
