About the artwork

The picture shows Erfurt's Marktstraße at Christmas time - taken in black and white to emphasise the architectural structures and the mood lighting. Festive fairy lights hang above the empty, cobbled street, running through the scene like a glowing net. The historic buildings, including half-timbered houses and classic façades, frame the street. A church tower rises in the background, lending depth and orientation to the picture. Traces of light on the road indicate passing vehicles - a reference to the technique of long exposure.

Marktstraße is a central link in Erfurt's old town and reflects the historical development of the city. Especially at Christmas time, it unfolds a special atmosphere between tradition and urban life.

My inspiration was to capture this moment of calm in the urban space - without people, but not without movement. The black and white aesthetic enhances the graphic effect and draws the eye to the interplay of light, line and space.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
