About the artwork
This is an unusual pattern. A pattern, initially, of straight lines. A pattern in light and dark, composed of about eight triangles facing the centre of the image. A geometric pattern, executed in contrasting shades. Shades that refer to nature, but also black shades as a counterpoint to the light colours.
This geometric straight pattern was created from two photos I took myself. A photo of a stone and a photo of a metal object. Two objects with a hard surface, but with a different pattern and texture. Mixing these two patterns and structures produced a particularly graphic image.
This graphic image was digitally converted to the eight triangles in geometric distribution.
But the straight pattern is disturbed. It has been disturbed by perhaps a wind, or perhaps by water. This disturbance has created a whirlwind similar to a vortex. The straight lines are detached from the image and are pulled towards the centre and then disappear into this centre.
Despite the wind or water pulling the straight lines out of context, the entire image has still remained symmetrical and is still tangential to the geometric graphic pattern.
It has become a mysterious and intriguing work of art with contrasts that is sure to spark your imagination!
