Camille Pissarro, born Jacob Abraham Pizarro (Charlotte Amalie, 10 July 1830 - Paris, 12 November 1903) was a French impressionist painter.
During his stay in Paris, Pissarro was Vincent van Gogh's mentor, who taught him new techniques with bright colours; Van Gogh wrote to his brother Theo: "... I'm far from being able to paint it like he said I had to. "
