A free interpretation of a forest in early spring. The trees still have only a vase of green leaves but on the ground, things are starting to come alive in full force: the colourful woodland hyacinths take advantage of the first rays of the sun and bring colour to the landscape.
There is always movement in nature, through wind, animals and insects, the growth of plants or their decay. I show that movement here too through all the lines that go along with the colours and shapes.
The painting is interesting from a distance but also up close.
In my paintings, I always look for the field of tension between abstraction and figurative art. There is depth and many details. The focal point is somewhere in the distance between the fog and the forest.
In the different layers of this painting, you can discover all sorts of things and it remains interesting to look at.
In a hectic time with lots of screens, this painting helps you relax and give your eyes a break. It helps you ground and relax, without being boring.
