Dopamine Decor: Pink hibiscus flower painted in thick impasto by Studio Pieternel

● Exclusive design for Werk aan de Muur / Art Heroes

This eye-catching piece (an adaptation of my own photographic work) brings an explosion of colour and energy to your interior. At the centre is a large, tropical hibiscus flower in vibrant shades of pink and soft yellow. What immediately catches the eye is the suggestion of tangible texture and structure; the petals and the background appear to be built up with thick, impasto brushstrokes and palette knife effects.

The background complements the composition with an abstract, mosaic-like pattern of vertical blocks of colour in purple, blue, green, yellow and warm pink, subtly enriched with golden accents.

Artistic style and atmosphere
This artwork combines botanical art with an expressive, abstract style. The texture gives the work a modern, dynamic look and a rich sense of depth. The interplay of bright colours and golden details creates a cheerful, warm and luxurious atmosphere that immediately draws the eye in any room.

Interior trend:
The piece fits perfectly with modern interior trends that focus on colour and texture, such as the Maximalist style or a Boho Chic interior. It makes a fantastic statement piece above the sofa in the living room, in a bright hallway or to add extra atmosphere to the bedroom. This colourful artwork blends beautifully with both sleek, modern design and natural materials and green houseplants.
