Doega 3 was the name for the Soviet Union's OTH radar system. At the time of the Cold War, this system was designed to track intercontinental missile launches. The steel structure was 135 m high and 300 m long. Commissioned in 1985, the system was located close to the Chernobyl nuclear reactor because of its high power consumption. Due to the nuclear disaster a year later in 1986, the complex already had to close down.
