About ‘Dike view at the Bight of Watum’ by Wrister Kuiling

The Bight of Watum is a shipping channel in the Eems estuary between Germany and the Netherlands. The channel runs from the Pier of Oterdum past the Schermdijk (Delfzijl Wind Farm North) in the Oosterhoek/Oosterhorn and further via Delfzijl, Delfzijl-Noord, Naterij, Lutjeburen, Nansum, Klein Wierum, Garbendeweer, Hoogwatum and Nieuwstad along the east side of Eemshaven, to merge with the Oostfriesche Gaatje (East Frisian Hole) there into the Doekegat. The Bight of Watum forms the continuation of the Groote Gat via the Mouth of the Dollard.

The bend is named after the vanished village of Watum, which was near present-day Hoogwatum.

Between the Bight of Watum and the Oostfriesche Gat lie the sandbanks Paap and Hond. To the west lies the sandbank Stern and at the mouth the sandbank Robbenplaat. In front of Hoogwatum lies the Beppegat. Between 1888 and 1945, the Watum Lighthouse stood on the coast between Garbendeweer and Klein Wierum.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
