'Embankment view' is part of a series in black and white, in which I went in search of the 'silence' in the city.
This image was shot at a new housing estate in Ridderkerk.
I was looking for an image composition, which evoked in me the feeling of the emptiness in the city, free from distractions in the image.
From a lower vantage point at the bottom of the dike, an alienating image emerged that made me happy.
Emptiness in optima forma!
The interplay of lines, the tessellation and symmetry help me to sketch a photographic image, which you do not immediately refer to life in a city.
A focus on the 'emptiness' that I experience in various places, which others easily pass by.
As if loneliness can also exist in pictures.
