There is a lot of abstraction to be found in nature if you look around a little longer. My maxim is therefore "If you look longer you see more".
This photo was taken on an early morning in the Middelduinen nature reserve on Goeree Overflakkee.
Autumn is the period when mushrooms are abundant and this is always a rewarding subject for photographers.
I always try to do this in a slightly different way so that the beauty of the abstract in nature comes into its own.
For me, this picture exudes tranquillity through its warm colour, simplicity and the glistening droplets. It also invites you to look longer and let your imagination run wild.
I was born on Goeree Overflakkee and there are beautiful nature reserves to photograph such as the Kwade Hoek and the Slikken van Flakkee. I love to travel and try to capture both the culture and nature of distant countries photographically.
