The CASA C295 is a twin-engine medium-range transport aircraft developed by Spain's CASA, now merged into Airbus Military. The aircraft is also used as a maritime patrol aircraft and, in the future, as an AWACS radar aircraft. The C295 was based on the 1980s Spanish-Indonesian Airtech CN-235, with an extended fuselage, more powerful engines and a 50% larger payload. The aircraft is being built at the Spanish in San Pablo, near Seville.
