This is a photograph taken in rural France of pine trees in late autumn. In the foreground there are plants with no leaves and the background there is a mist. It is an atmospheric scene, dark and mysterious with a touch of golden light to add some warmth. I wanted to give a sense of quiet and solitude, and highlight the natural beauty of trees, even during the autumn and winter.

I have added a texture as well as some scratches to give it an aged and worn feeling.
My style is inspired by the Pictorialist movement, and I am drawn to dark images, and particularly like photographing in the winter.
