Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.

About ‘Spanish Trees No.2’ by Dan Courtice

A photograph taken in-between Roses and Cadaqués in northern Spain. The tree is a Cork Oak and sits on a slope next to a main road leading up into the hills. It is late summer. The warm sunlight hits the tree as it rises over the hills.

There is a texture added and techniques are used to give the photograph a painterly feel. The colours have been reduced slightly, adding a sense of age. Using my technique I am able to play with light and contrast, softening certain areas and strengthening others, which enables me to draw the viewers eye to a specific part of the image, very much like a painter would do. I aim to produce images that evoke a strong sense of nostalgia, and my subjects are almost always trees.

I am inspired by Pictorialism and the landscape painters of the 19th century and recreate the same sense of light and composition.
