Anyone in the Netherlands who wants to photograph fallow deer goes to the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes to do so. I usually go there to capture birds, but when they hardly ever show themselves, I rarely if ever leave empty-handed. Fallow deer are always there and are quite easy to photograph. Like this one that seems to pose willingly for me. It reminds me of Bambi. So cute!
Nature in the Netherlands is beautiful and photographing animals has made me realise this more and more. It has made me look at the diversity of wildlife in the Netherlands with different eyes. And partly because of this, I was able to (re)discover the many species our country has to offer. It has opened up a new world for me.
This photo deserves a place on the wall of someone with a weakness for animals, (fallow) deer, nature or who just likes this photo. Who knows, maybe this photo will spark more interest in Dutch nature.
