The crown pigeon or common crown pigeon (Goura cristata) is an endemic bird species from New Guinea.
It is about 80 centimetres long and weighs about 2.5 kilograms. The crowning pigeon is a very calm pigeon that mainly lives on the ground, where it scavenges its food. Although he can fly short distances, he hardly ever does so. The plumage is blue with dark wings. A curious feature is the fan-shaped row of feathers on the head.
