A coastal landscape in Brittany where purple heather, grassland and shrubs come together overlooking the sea. In the foreground, the heather blooms profusely, interspersed with prickly bushes and wild plants. Further into the background, greenery grows denser along the rocky edge of the coast.
The Atlantic Ocean lies still and grey under a slightly overcast sky. An island can be seen on the horizon, barely visible due to the sky and water almost merging into each other. To the right is a rounded granite rock, characteristic of the geological formation of this area.
The image exudes calm and stillness, paying attention to the texture of the vegetation and the subtle play of colours between earth, stone and sky. This combination of flora and coastline is typical of the Breton landscape in late summer and early autumn.
The composition shows the richness of natural forms in an open and breathing frame - where the land gently flows into the sea.
