About ‘Cobalt Descent’ by Studio Karin Bakker

Cobalt Descent is a monoprint created on a gel plate, in which the cool depths of the earth converge with a sense of stillness and surrender.

Through the build-up of transparent layers, saturated shades of blue and subtle textures, an inner landscape emerges that evokes a slow descent beneath the surface. Boundaries blur, light grows scarce, and what remains is a silent, almost tangible space in which time and pressure have left their mark.

Cobalt Descent invites us to slow down and reflect – a tranquil journey downwards, where the earth reveals its hidden structures and where silence is not empty, but filled with presence and depth. Each layer reveals something new, a whisper of what lies beneath us and carries us, unseen.

Hi! I'm Karin.

Photographer for over 13 years, started as a portrait photographer and now since 2018 I focus completely on taking nature photos.
Put me in a forest and I'm happy, during my walks with my dog I tried to look around me very mindfull and by standing still and paying attention to the small details, I noticed how beautiful the light can fall on the small textures in nature. This is what I started to photograph.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
