This is a picture of a tropical shell: the Murex Endivia. This shell has a beautiful shape with long dark spines. An extraordinary work of art from nature. This calls for a beautiful photograph.
Shells always inspire me to take photos. For me, shells belong to holidays, to the holiday feeling, to the feeling of freedom and peace. Walking on a deserted beach with the wind in your hair, the sound of the sea and the seagulls, the sun shining in your face and the smell of the sea water. All this together is ultimate enjoyment for me!
At the beach, I like to go looking for shells. Looking for shells is an extremely relaxing activity. It's all you do; I can get totally absorbed in it and feel wonderfully zen.
I did not find this Murex shell myself, but bought it in a second-hand shop. It is a shell from a tropical country, photographed on a surface full of drops of water and against a brightly coloured background. All in all, a particularly beautiful combination! The incidence of light on the shell completes the photo.
Found it myself or not, this photo of the tropical shell gives me a wonderful holiday feeling with the accompanying sense of freedom. Hopefully, you will get the same feeling when this photo hangs on your wall!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
