Cliffs and views of the blue Mediterranean Sea. The Sierra Helada Natural Park is a landmark of the Costa Blanca in Spain. The mountain range rises between the coastal towns of Altea and Benidorm. Hiking in the Sierra Helada offers wonderful views of the Mediterranean and the steep cliffs. The side facing the sea is characterised by imposing rock formations. This photo is dedicated to the shapes and colours of the weathered rock, but also to the bright blue of the sea.
Incidentally, the name Sierra Helada means icy or frosty mountain. This probably refers less to the Mediterranean temperatures and more to the light colours of the cliffs, which give the Sierra Helada (seen from a distance) a frosty appearance on some days.
