An unusual and mysterious circle pattern is seen here in this picture. The outer edge of the dark metal shape is a circle of hearts linked together. This circle pattern of hearts repeats in the background and fans out to the edges of the photo.
It is a magical whole that puts your imagination to work. What am I looking at? What do I see in this metallic pattern? Why are all these hearts so connected? What is this object?
The picture is made of a utilitarian object. Ordinary everyday objects are regularly a source of inspiration for me. Turning such an object into a beautiful work of art with my camera is particularly challenging. Merging several images then often creates an artistic work of art.
For this particular and imaginative circle, I used a doorknob that was attached to an old cupboard. The old cabinet was so worn that it was no longer usable, but I liked the doorknobs so much that I had to keep and cherish them. These door knobs are definitely older than 1955. Due to oxidation of the metal and frequent use, the doorknob has deteriorated in a few places. Rust spots and minor damage betray the age of this beautiful metal object and enhance its charm.
The many hearts make this artwork a romantic decoration for the wall.
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
