About ‘Charlie Chaplin in Collage’ by Arjen Roos

In this artwork, the iconic figure Charlie Chaplin meets a colourful explosion of colour, symbol and form. Chaplin's line drawing is the calm centrepiece in a dynamic background of graphic elements, graffiti, art deco fragments and fashion images from the 1920s. This visual chaos reflects both the hustle and bustle of modern life and the versatility of Chaplin's timeless persona.

The background is constructed as a collage of layers: torn magazine clippings, abstract patterns, typography and illustrations seem randomly pasted on top of each other, but together form a thoughtful composition. Chaplin stands still among it all, as if looking with his characteristic gaze in wonder at the contemporary art forms that surround him.

The work plays with contrasts: black and white versus colour, silence versus noise, past versus present. Despite the busy background, Chaplin's melancholic charm remains unaffected - as if, just as in his films, he stops time for a moment.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
