This is a macro picture of the carbonic acid in soft drinks. The soda in this uncoloured glass is tonic. In the glass of tonic I stirred until a lot of bubbles came. I had already set up my camera with a macro lens (60mm) and ready to go on a tripod. I wanted to capture the movement of the carbon bubbles with a longer shutter speed. After stirring the bubbles slowly diminished in number and I was able to take some pictures with slower shutter speeds. Before I had the right picture I had to stir the glass several times. Of the many pictures I took there were only a few to my satisfaction. In the post-processing I adjusted the color of the highlights and shadows to my own taste. Because tonic is transparent and the glass was not colored I could easily do this operation.
