Cappucino Splash is an abstract painting created in my studio, half way up a mountain, with fabulous views to Lake Trasimeno in Central Italy. Using acrylic paint, I have built up various layers using a palette knife and a plasterer's tool, also known as a squeezy. I chose to use the colours that would be found in my morning coffee, a cappucino. I then carefully applied puddles of paint with a hint of white and blue that were then hit with a hammer to create a glorious splash across the canvas. Yes, it is messy and yes, it is fun! The result is a piece that is soft, easy on the eye yet full of motion, with just a hint of canvas grain.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
