Several chairlifts (cable cars) are hidden in the dense clouds on top of the Zugspitze. This point can be reached from Garmisch-Partenkirchen by the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn, after which you can travel on to the Zugspitze itself, located at almost 3,000m altitude.
