Burning red deer near a doe in the Hoge Veluwe National Park. Taken during the red deer's rutting season. The males try to impress the females by burbling as loudly as possible. Red deer are the largest species of deer found in the Netherlands. During the rut, deer make a rutting sound called burbling.
