It was supposed to be the answer to the Cadillac Series 62 and Chrysler's forward look by Virgil Max Egner, its exuberant rear wing in jet design and including strongly curved laminated glass. It also had a powerful V8 engine with 300 hp.
Each Buick Special, Century, Super and Roadmaster received a full-width Fashion-Aire Dynastar grille cast from 160 cube-shaped chrome squares. They were intended to reflect the light in their complete entirety, according to the marketing department. On the rear wing, there were wide areas with 15 diagonal chrome trim strips each. All this and much more was to become Buick's top model, although the Limited Series 90 had already been built in the first generation since 1931.
Selling price currently possible from $70,000 to $190,000.
