Close to the dike in Hindeloopen on the IJsselmeer is this breakwater. The photo was taken with a longer exposure time to soften the water and sky. Hindeloopen is located in the province of Friesland on the IJsselmeer, which used to be called Zuiderzee.
The installation of the Afsluitdijk in 1932 turned the IJsselmeer into a freshwater lake with an area of 1133 square metres. No ebb and flow occurs with it and there is also a current.
