The Boeing 747-8 is the latest version of the Boeing 747 announced on November 14, 2005. With this, Boeing replaced the Boeing 747-400 and competed with Airbus' superjumbo, the A380. This aircraft is longer than the A380 and even longer than the Airbus A340-600.
In 2020 Boeing announced to stop the production of the legendary 747.
Now that the corona crisis has hit aviation unprecedentedly hard, aircraft manufacturers are left with a surplus of planes. Many airlines are cancelling their orders or postponing delivery. The demand for large aircraft has completely collapsed.
