About ‘Boats on rough seas with hills in Fiji’ by Carmen Kuijper

I took this photo when we had just left Musket Cove in Fiji. We hadn't been underway long when I saw this moment: a few boats lying still behind the reef, with the hills of the island in the background.

What struck me most were the different elements in the photo. First, the water. The wind blows the water from the breaking waves slightly upwards, creating a light mist of spray behind the boat. This gives the image some movement and a more dramatic effect.

Behind the boats, you can see the dry hills of the island, which have a warmer colour in the light. Meanwhile, the sky adds a more rugged effect to the photo. The combination of the somewhat rougher sea, the tranquil landscape and the exciting sky makes the image very interesting to look at for me. Enjoy!

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
