The boat tour Lake Garda has an extremely long and successful tradition. Until the end of the Second World War, boats were often the only way to move from place to place - the roads, as we know them today on Lake Garda, were not yet built or developed. This is especially true of the west coast of Lake Garda - in many places much rockier and rougher than the east coast, the boat was literally often the only choice. The town of Limone on Lake Garda, which was developed for tourists earlier than other towns on Lake Garda, could only be reached by boat, over the mountains or from the south. The starting signal for public passenger transport on the water, as we know it today, many on April 16, 1948.
Many places on Lake Garda are connected by ferries. You have the choice between a comfortable panoramic trip on one of the excursion steamers and the more time-saving variant of the hydrofoils, which take you from one place to the next in a few minutes.
