Prussian blue and ochre yellow make a great colour combination. Using these colours of acrylic paint, I created an abstract background with shapes reminiscent of autumn leaves. The many layers of paint and the use of a rough brush create a rough texture.
I brought out the shape of the vase by pushing back the background with thin layers of white and blue acrylic paint. I made collage elements of real leaves on tissue paper and pasted them on the vase to make it more interesting.
It is not a realistic image, not really abstract either, but
something in between.
On the one hand, this work has a fresh modern feel, but it is also inspired by the still lifes of old masters.
