Whitewashed wall of farmhouse in the south of France. This work is one of a series of many works that I have edited digitally. I call them 'Photo Peintures' because I basically paint with light. I try to create a personal impression of photographic reality. Not a realistic registration, but a personal feeling. However, it also leaves room for personal emotions or memories of the viewer. The colours blue suit the South of France very well. I took the title from the small blue jug in the bottom right-hand corner of the picture, which is nevertheless very defining in terms of shape in this scene. As a photographer, I have always felt the need to add value, to the registered reality of my photos.
