Blue Angels in action during the Diamond Dirty Loop.
During this part of the flight demonstration, 4 aircraft fly in the Diamond Formation and the landing gear and catch hooks are clearly visible. In airshow jargon, this is called dirty.
The Blue Angels (also known as Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron) is a flight demonstration team of the United States Navy. The team was formed at the end of World War II, making it 'the world's first official flight demonstration team. One started with three aircraft, then four and for many years the team has consisted of six aircraft.
From 2021, the team will fly the Boeing F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet fighter aircraft.
