The Bierkade in Alkmaar runs along the Noordhollandsch Kanaal. Along the road are a number of characteristic buildings (warehouses), which stand out nicely in the photo. The photo was taken with a long shutter speed to "freeze" the water of the canal. Indeed, it looks like there is a layer of ice on the water, the effect of which is somewhat confusing. In the background of the little street in the middle, a church tower can be seen which is located in the city centre. The little car in front of that street gives the photo a playful twist.
Since the end of 2017 I have enthusiastically revived my "old" photography hobby. As a camera I use the Canon 6D II, the 17-40mm is the favorite for landscapes, wide perspectives and nice clear photos. Especially this camera offers possibilities to do professional work.
