The Barbary macaque, like most other macaques, has a bald face. In the case of the Barbary macaque, the face is pink. It is a monkey with thick ochre-grey fur, with the crown, hands and feet being orange in colour, and the face surrounded by dark hair.
It has long limbs (both about the same length) and short, broad hands. The Barbary macaque, unlike most other macaques, has no tail. These are adaptations to life on the ground: Barbary macaques spend more time on the ground than any other macaque.
Males are larger than females. A male has a body length of 65 to 75 centimetres, a shoulder height of up to 50 centimetres and a weight of 7 to 10 kilograms. A female has a body length of 55 to 65 centimetres, a shoulder height of up to 45 centimetres and a weight of 4 to 7 kilograms. A Barbary ape lives to be about 20 years old. source Wikipedia.
