The picture shows a dense field of daisies (Bellis perennis), whose flower heads appear predominantly white with yellow centres. Some of the flowers have striking purple discolouration on the petals - an indication of the deliberate colour distortion of the pictorial material. This artistic treatment emphasises the natural structure of the flowers and lends the motif an unusual, almost graphic effect.
The inspiration for this work was the idea of showing a familiar motif - the daisy - in a new light by deliberately changing the colour. The alienation does not serve to distort, but rather to emphasise: it draws the eye to the form, rhythm and density of the flowers and opens up new perspectives on an everyday natural motif.
The atmosphere I wanted to create with this picture is calm, but not neutral - it is intended to encourage a closer look. The message lies in the possibility of rediscovering the familiar by changing one's perspective.
In interior design, this work acts as a subtle but effective accent. It is particularly suitable for modern, minimalist rooms, where its unusual colour scheme and clear structure give it a quiet but striking presence.
